The North Texas Sporting Spaniel Club ("NTSSC") has been in existence as an informal training club since 2007. In January 2009, the North Texas Sporting Spaniel Club decided to seek American Kennel Club accreditation to hold AKC field performance events. We are now approved to hold AKC Hunting Tests and AKC Spaniel Field Trials.

The primary territory we serve is the North Texas area from the Red River to Itasca, Texas but we welcome members and interested parties from everywhere! Our club members own dogs of many breeds and varieties including English & American Cocker Spaniels, English & American Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Boykins, Clumber Spaniels and American Water Spaniels.

Some members compete in field performance and hunting events and some are active in obedience, agility, conformation and/or tracking. We have a wide range of experience within our club: from seasoned professional trainers and handlers to first time dog owners and novice handlers.

We are committed to inclusion and want to work with anyone and any dog that has the desire to participate in field work. The club hosts training events at least once a month or depending on the season and the weather almost every weekend at the LBJ Grasslands, North of Decatur, Texas which is our primary facility. We also sometimes go to Deleon, Texas for training with pheasants.
