About the Club

We at the Timpanogos Hunting Spaniel Club are dedicated to the improvement of the hunting spaniel!  We were established in 2012 by a group that wanted to further the opportunities for hunting spaniels in the central Utah area.  The foundation of the club are near the base of Mount Timpanogos.

Some have asked about our name and other questions about our club, I will attempt to answer:

Why Timpanogos?  In the Utah Valley Area Mount Timpanogos can be seen from about everywhere and is a landmark for the area.

Mount Timpanogos, sometimes informally referred to as Timp, is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch Range. Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,749 feet (3,582 m) above sea level in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. With 5,269 feet of topographic prominence, Timpanogos is the 47th-most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States.

The word Timpanogos comes from the Timpanogots tribe who lived in the surrounding valleys from AD 1400. The name translates as rock (tumpi-), and water mouth or canyon.

Our special and unique trophies, we call rock art, are given at our trials are awarded to the 1st place dogs in the Open All-Age, Amateur All-Age and the Puppy Stake.  These are very special trophies and would look good in any den or on any fireplace mantel.  These outstanding trophies are done by Maggi Hill, Brent and Carolyn Blundell’s granddaughter.
