Why pay an annual Membership fee to join ESSFTA?
This question is often asked by springer folks who are actively involved in springer spaniel events. The simple answer to this question is - so you can vote.
Your vote then translates into facts that your vote has some function and weight, you have an opinion that will count, you can influence the decisions made by your governing board but most important you can support the organization that sponsors and tracks the events your springer runs in.
It is possible to attend springer field trials, agility tests, hunt tests, rally, conformation shows, as well as the Nationals each year without being a member. But by being a member, it shows that you support and value the sponsorship of the AKC Parent Club in running these events, it is giving support to the people who function on the Board setting policy, rules, and organization of the events. It is supporting many of the annual awards and trophies that go to all the winners and placing dogs.
