THE FOLLOWING COVID 19 PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE
The Calgary English Springer Spaniel Club will be initiating the following protocols for the
COVID-19 virus to be followed for their July 24th, 25th and 26th field trial which include the
following:
1) Spectators for the gallery limited to family or a few friends of the dog on the line.
2) The gallery of spectators to social distance and stay single file.
3) Limit the number of volunteer workers in the field to as few as possible (i.e. one
marshal, 2 handlers, 4 gunners, 2 judges, with no shaggers being used). Handlers will
be required to carry their own birds to the bird storage area.
4) Requiring participants/handlers to stay in or near their vehicle or trailers until they are
invited to compete at the line to minimize the gallery size.
5) Requiring participants/handlers to stay single file with a safe social distance between
each other.
6) Not allowing more than two (2) people to congregate in close physical proximity to
enclosed side by side vehicles or trailers.
7) No awards ceremony – placements and call backs to be broadcast via radio
8) No lunch is provided. Attendees are required to arrange their own meals & requested
to eat at your own trailer/vehicle.
9) Hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes will be provided
All participants must sign in at the field trial tent, and record their temperature and
answer the following questionnaire each day of the trial. This is to address condition of
new arrivals and any overnight symptom changes.
1. Fever or cough in the last 3 weeks that has prevented them from working per their
corporate occupational health requirements.
2. Quarantined by a health care provider in the 21 days.
3. Current cough of fever or any other symptoms of a viral infection per Alberta
government guidelines for COVID-19 symptoms.
Any participant that meets the following criteria will not be allowed to participate or be
present at the field trial.
