11/3/2021: An important message to all entrants for the 2021 National Amateur Championship
Changes to the rotation of the grounds: The trial committee has decided to change the currently advertised grounds rotation as follows:
1st and 2nd series – 2722 Thunder Road, Gillet, PA 16925
3rd and 4th series – Ahouse South, Dean Road, Lodi, NY 14860
5th series – TBD – National Forest area
Water Series – Smith Memorial Park, Smith Park Rd., Hector, NY
Having evaluated the current state of the grounds the committee feels that the use of the grounds in PA are most suitable to run the first two series. They are good consistent cover, provide long courses and vehicles are permitted. We encourage you to bring your ranger/ATV and be willing to give a ride to other handlers and their dogs.
Because of the mild winter the cover on the forestry land is much more challenging and better suited to the later series.
The consequence of this is that the Monday/Tuesday morning caravans will take approx. 1 hour to the grounds in a southerly direction from the headquarters hotel. This in turn will mean that entrants who are staying closer to the forestry land will need to allow extra time.
All maps and navigation instructions are being updated to reflect these changes.

Congratulations for qualifying for the National Amateur Championship. As
part of your entry you are entitled to a 5×7 portrait of your qualified
dog.
I will start portrait sittings starting on training day and
completing by mid-afternoon of the second day of the trial. I’m usually
located some where close to the beginning of the course.
Getting the portrait done on Training day (even if you are not participating in the training) is a lot less stressful. My general recommendations for
getting the best portrait:
– Get the portrait done before running your dog
– Check your dogs appearance. Remove eye goop, burrs, etc…
Additional portraits or special photos can be done for a fee.
Cheers,
Mark Gebert (aka Geeb)
