Roger P. Dolliff Jr.

Dolliff, Roger P. Jr. Preceded in death by brother, Douglas A. Dolliff; sister, Dorothy (Dolliff) Lang; son, David E. Dolliff. Survived by beloved wife, Mary (Russell) Dolliff; sons, Daniel J. (Lanie), Roger III (Vivian) and Matthew (Kathy); and grandchildren, Daniel C., Jillian, Hugh, Jameson; sister-in-law, Norma Dolliff.

After graduating from West High School, Roger served in the Navy V-12 program in Dickinson, North Dakota, followed by the V-5 program at Corpus Christi, Texas when the war ended. A member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Class of ‘49 at the U of M. Married Mary Louise Russell in 1950.

Roger had a long and successful career in the property and casualty insurance business at Dolliff Insurance and served in most capacities including president. After retiring, he became interested in training and field trialing English Springer Spaniel dogs. He placed dogs in 2 National Amateur Championships, produced 6 Amateur Field Champions in the US and Canada, besides being president of the National English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association Championship in 2002.

A longtime member of the Lafayette Club, Minnetonka Beach, Minnesota. A charter member of the Minneapolis Suburban Gyro Club and past president, in addition to being a volunteer of SCORE Chapter 2 for several years. A member of Excelsior Lodge 113, and 32nd Scottish Rite Mason. Roger was a longtime collector of vintage cars and belonged to several car clubs including CCCA.

Service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 42nd & Lyndale South, Minneapolis on June 4, 10:30 AM. Visitation on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina 55435 (952-924-4100) and half hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Private interment.

Memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Association or the Animal Humane Society.
